Your Summer Facial Skin Care Routine

I always say everyone’s skin care routine is unique and you have to do what works for you, but here are some general tips that can help you out in Buffalo’s summer heat.


It’s always important to stay moisturized, hydrated, and clean, but I’ll share a few more specific tips that help you out morning, noon and night.


Morning: If you’re not one to take a shower every day, simply wash your face with warm water to open your pores, cleanse, and exfoliate as usual. Feel free to use serum to help brighten eyes, face and neck and don’t forget SPF! A light coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer will keep you feeling light and fresh throughout the days.


Noon: Carry some hydrating spray in your bag or car to help you stay cool and hydrated all day. Up your date intake to stay hydrated from the inside, out.


Night: As much fun we have in Buffalo’s summers, our skin takes a beating, but we can help alleviate the damage. Clean and prep your skin before bed like you do in the morning. Feel free to change up your products to help relax yourself and your skin for a full night of reparative sleep. The use of a night serum or mask will help you wake up with a perfectly hydrated face.


Some other things you can do that help your skin lie within your lifestyle choices. I know summer in Buffalo means beer, brats, and fun in the sun, but try to add in some salads, fresh fruits and veggies. Regular exercise and a good night’s sleep won’t hurt either.
