Clean Body Care: What is it and why does it matter?
I’m incredibly passionate about skincare, but what’s more important is that you should be using clean products. If you’re not quite sure what that is, I’m about to break it down for you. Since your skin is your body’s largest organ, you want to take extra-good care of It and avoid parabens, sulfates, artificial colors, gluten, phthalates, PEGs, ethanolamines, chemical sunscreens, synthetic fragrance, BHT, BHA, and talc. Using clean ingredients that are non-toxic, don’t take away from the environment, and they’re good for you because they don’t irritate the skin. Finding clean body products isn’t an easy feat, but I got lucky. I’m so proud to use ColorUp Therapeutics because their products are all organic, natural, and use cruelty-free ingredients. In addition, they do “4th-party” testing. This means that each and every batch of CBD or full spectrum that their lab receives comes with an independent 3rd party lab test to verify purity and quality standards. Then, they go one step further and text it themselves to verify against the 3rd party test. Talk about being thorough!
The personal care industry is effectively unregulated – the last piece of regulation that was only one page, was passed in 1938. This means that companies are essentiall free to do whatever they wish and add whatever ingredients they want to the products you pu ton and in your body. Sounds dangerous, right? When it comes to catch-phrases like natural, green or eco literally have no enforceable definition. The ingredient label on the front is far more important than the pretty label on the front.
Beyond your body’s health, we should be passionate and considerate of how negative impact body care ingredients affect the earth and aquatic life! It’s not always easy or possible, but when we can be earth and animal-friendly, I say DO IT! There’s also a common misconception that healthy, clean, and natural body care products cannot be luxurious. This is absolutely not true in 2019 and beyond. In the past, luxury skincare products were difficult to replicate in a natural sense, but thank goodness for technology. Today, it can be done, even though it’s not easy. That’s why it took me a good amount of time carefully curating my skin-care product line. ColorUp products are created with” herbal infusions to heal and balance the mind, body, and spirit. Where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” – ColorUp Therapeutics
